Support new leaders to transform from technical expert to leader of people

This academic medical center department was struggling with developing strong leaders from within their team. New leaders were often overwhelmed and frustrated with how to make the transition from their success as a technical expert to a new leader. They struggled with moving from peer to leader, addressing conflict, and coaching team members to meet performance expectations.

Using our LongitudinaLearning™ approach, we delivered a twelve month leadership training program focused on the collaborative leadership mindset and practices that lead to success. The program emphasized strengthening the participants’ self-awareness as a leader and putting the concepts into practice to foster a growth mindset of practice, reflection, and change.

The leaders reported they strengthened their confidence and competence to navigate former peer relationships and made a significant shift in their mindset from having the ‘right’ answer, to seeking other’s perspectives, and embracing coaching to collaborate and engage with others to leverage their strengths and move towards their individual potential.
