Leadership Development Courses & Packages

Leadership Development Courses and Packages

You got promoted because you were good at the work. Nobody taught you this part.

You are managing people now and you are figuring it out in real time, in front of an audience. These courses put a coach next to you while you do it.

Thirty minutes with a person, not a form. We will tell you which course fits what you are actually dealing with, or that none of them do.

Who we have worked with

Managers from these organizations have sat where you are sitting.

Academic medical centers, universities, aerospace, health plans, state government. Whatever you are dealing with, it is less unusual than it feels from the inside.

Selected Tandem Solutions clients, including Mass General Brigham, MIT, Weill Cornell Medicine, Northeastern University, Raytheon, CVS Health, Tufts Health Plan, Mercer and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
If this sounds familiar

The job changed. The training never came.

You were excellent at the work. That is why they gave you the team. Then the work became something else entirely and nobody sat you down and explained it.

So you are working longer hours than you did before the promotion and finishing less. You take the task back because it is faster than explaining it a third time. There is a conversation you should have had two weeks ago and you still have not had it, because you do not know how to open it without it going badly.

You are not sure whether your team respects you or just tolerates you. You watch other managers make it look effortless and quietly wonder what they know that you do not. Sunday evening has started to feel different than it used to.

None of that means you are bad at this. It means you are doing a job nobody trained you for, and you are doing it in public, with real consequences, while everyone assumes you already know how.

Here is the part that matters. Nobody is coming to teach you this. There is no onboarding for becoming someone’s boss. The habits you build in your first two years are the ones you will still be running in ten, and you are practicing something every single day. The only question is whether it is the version of this job you actually want to be good at.

What changes

What it feels like when you are not guessing anymore.

Not a personality transplant. Just knowing what to do in the moments that currently make your stomach drop.

You walk in knowing what you will say

The one-on-one, the feedback, the performance conversation you have been rehearsing in the car. You have a structure for it, you have practiced it with a coach, and it stops being the thing you dread on the calendar.

Your team brings you answers, not questions

You stop being the bottleneck everything routes through. People make decisions without checking, because you got clear about what a good outcome looks like before the work started.

You stop taking the job home

The mental load of managing drops when you are no longer carrying every unresolved conversation around with you. You get your evenings back, and your attention.

You become someone people want to work for

Which is the thing that follows you. It shows up in who asks to join your team, who stays, and what happens the next time a bigger job opens up.

Why this one will stick

You have sat through training before. You know how that goes.

You leave with good intentions and a full notebook. Then Monday happens, and by Thursday you are doing it the old way again.

That is not a willpower problem. You learn to delegate on a Tuesday and take the task back on Thursday because Thursday is busy and doing it yourself is faster. Every manager does this. Training alone almost never survives contact with a real week.

So the course is not really the product here. The coaching after it is. You learn something, you go try it on an actual conversation at work, and then you sit down with a coach and work through what happened. What you said. Where it went sideways. What to do differently next time. That loop is where a habit gets built, and it is the part almost nobody gives you.

1
Learn

TandemTools gives you the concept, the videos, and the structure, on your schedule.

2
Assess

Assessments show you how you lead now, which is usually not how you think you lead.

3
Apply

You take it into a real conversation at work this week. Not a role play.

4
Coach

You and a coach work through what actually happened and what to adjust.

5
Change behavior

Repeat until the new way is what you reach for under pressure.

From people who did it

What it sounds like on the other side.

I started with the thought that I was going to learn how to communicate like a leader. Instead I learned how to lead.

I am a veteran manager… The structure and support of this program was so helpful for me and I am already installing some of my learnings with my team.

Kate Pitman
Senior Director of Digital Marketing, Northeastern University

I did not realize how much I needed this to better my practice as a leader. After each zoom I took away something totally different every time.

Who delivers it

The person who will actually be on the call with you.

Which one

One course, or the full pathway?

Take a single course if

  • You can name the thing you want to get better at.
  • You want focused learning and coaching on one area.
  • You are dealing with a specific challenge right now.
  • You want to see how this works before committing to more.

Take a category package if

  • You want to build across several related capabilities.
  • You want more coaching over a longer stretch.
  • What you are facing is bigger than one course will solve.
  • You want a full pathway that connects learning, assessment, coaching and real application.

Not sure? That is what the fit call is for. We do this every week and it takes us about ten minutes to tell.

Paying for it

Most people do not pay for this themselves.

If your company has a development budget, this is exactly what it is for. Most managers never ask because they do not know how to frame it.

Here is the version that tends to work. Do not ask for a course. Ask for a specific outcome, tie it to something your boss already cares about, and name what it costs. Something like: I want to get better at delegating so you stop being pulled into my team’s decisions. There is a course with coaching that runs a few months, it costs this much, and here is what I would be working on.

Ask us on the fit call and we will write that request with you, including the price and the time commitment, so you can forward it. We do it constantly. It costs you nothing and it is usually the only thing standing between you and getting this approved.

Before you spend anything

The call where we might tell you not to buy.

Thirty minutes. You tell us what is actually happening with your team. We tell you which course fits, or that none of them do.

There are answers we give regularly that are not a sales pitch. Sometimes it is one course rather than the package you were looking at. Sometimes it is that what you are describing is not a skills problem at all, it is a situation problem, and no course fixes that. You should hear that from us before you spend the money rather than after.

We would rather lose the sale on a Tuesday than take your money for something that will not help.

Or email sales@tandem-solutions.com if you would rather write it out first.

Buying for a team, not yourself?

If you have five or more managers, the Manager Performance Cohort costs less per person than enrolling them one at a time. It also adds a measured before and after, an executive debrief, and a ninety-day guarantee that individual enrollment does not include.

See the cohort

Nobody is going to hand you this.

There is no point where someone notices you are struggling and arrives with the training. You are going to be a manager either way. The only decision is whether you spend the next two years getting good at it on purpose, or by accident.
